Sarah Bennett is currently a doctoral student at the City University of New York Graduate Center and a Research Assistant at the Center on Terrorism at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She earned her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. Ms. Bennett is a Presidential Management Fellow Nominee. She has also been awarded the Enhanced Chancellor’s Fellowship by the City University of New York Graduate Center and is a participant of the Department of Homeland Security Career Development Program. One requirement for this program is to complete summer exchanges at two different Department of Homeland Security Centers of Excellence. Ms. Bennett will meet this requirement by working at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism at the University of Maryland in the summer of 2009. Her research interests include political violence, fragile states, the evolution and structure of terrorist organizations, terrorist financing and national security issues pertaining to energy.
